The University of Shanghai offers plenty of activities on its campus. An important portfolio of sports infrastructures can be found, accounting for a surface of more than 10 000 m2. Arts are also enhanced by an important number of conference halls and theatre venues providing regular shows, concerts and artistic performances. 130 societies enhance the local life.

Within UTSEUS, many opportunities enable French and Chinese students to participate in extra-curricular activities (tutoring, students pairing, language support, sports and arts activities). Two societies are particularly active: the French-speaking club and the UTSEUS student society. Moreover, Chinese and international students are encouraged to contribute to extracurricular activities every semester. Lastly, Chinese students can get involved with volunteering activities.
