UTSEUS 20th Anniversary Celebration | Joining Hands with Sixteen Industry Partners

On November 8, 2025, the Sino-European University of Technology of Shanghai University (UTSEUS) grandly held its 20th Anniversary Celebration Conference. Centered on the theme “Twenty Years of Craftsmanship · Bridging China and Europe · Shaping an Intelligent Future,” the event reflected on UTSEUS’ two decades of development and highlighted the remarkable achievements of Sino-French cooperation in engineering education. Representatives from 16 partner organizations were invited to attend, joining UTSEUS in looking ahead and opening a new chapter of collaboration.

University-Industry Cooperation: Educating Together, Growing Together

Close collaboration between universities and industry is a defining feature of the French engineering education model and a key pillar of UTSEUS’ development. Over the past twenty years, UTSEUS has remained committed to training internationally minded and innovative engineers, while steadily building a long-term, mutually beneficial ecosystem of university-enterprise cooperation.

ince its founding, UTSEUS has drawn deeply from the French engineer training system, embedding industry engagement throughout the entire educational process. By integrating social and economic resources into institutional governance, teaching, and research innovation, UTSEUS has ensured that its development evolves in step with the changing needs of society and industry.

Through a wide range of initiatives—including the establishment of education funds, the provision of internships and innovation practice platforms, participation in teaching, joint course development, and support for academic competitions—industry partners have played an active role in UTSEUS’ talent development mission and in strengthening students’ core competencies.

To express its gratitude for the long-standing support of its partners and to mark the beginning of deeper future collaboration, UTSEUS held a partnership signing ceremony during the anniversary conference with representatives from Alibaba (Europe) Co., Ltd., Schneider Electric Co., Ltd., Dassault Systèmes Information Technology Co., Ltd., Eaton China and North Asia, Akila Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Okra (Shanghai) Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd., CICO Software Systems Co., Ltd., French Tech Shanghai, S-Creation China, Schneider Electric (China) Co., Ltd., Saint-Gobain Research (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Yanfeng International Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., Hanjie Group, Sanyou Medical Devices Co., Ltd., Mip Map (Shanghai) Software Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Qiantang Communication Technology Co., Ltd., and the Shanghai Chief Engineers Association. Commemorative trophies were also presented to the participating organizations.

That afternoon, UTSEUS also held a Memorandum of Cooperation signing ceremony for university-industry collaboration. Representatives from Yanfeng International Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., Okra (Shanghai) Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd., Hanjie Group, Mip Map (Shanghai) Software Technology Co., Ltd., French Tech Shanghai, S-Creation China, and Shanghai Qiantang Communication Technology Co., Ltd. signed the memorandum together with Yu Xuemei, Vice President of Shanghai University.

Under the agreement, both sides will work together to develop courses, introduce enterprise case studies, and explore new models such as industry mentors and company visits, with the aim of building a curriculum more closely aligned with industrial needs. They will also deepen collaboration in internships, practical training, and career development by offering internship opportunities, real-world project topics, and professional lectures that strengthen students’ connection with the workplace.

In addition, the partnership will promote joint innovation projects to support young talent and foster the next generation of engineers. Both sides will also work to enhance students’ global competence by strengthening intercultural communication skills, understanding of international norms, and awareness of global governance. Together, they aim to build a full-chain collaborative education system spanning courses, projects, internships, and employment, providing students with a stronger platform for growth and development at the forefront of industry.

The event concluded with a roundtable discussion on the theme of “Engineering Education for the Next Decade,” followed by in-depth exchanges during the tea break on future directions for cooperation.
