The First Joint Management Committee Meeting of UTSEUS in 2026 Successfully Held
     

    On the evening of January 21, 2026, the first Joint Management Committee meeting of the Sino-European University of Technology of Shanghai University (UTSEUS) in 2026 was held at Baoshan Campus. Attendees included Yu Xuemei, Vice President of Shanghai University; Christophe COLLET, President of the University of Technology of Troyes (UTT); Claire ROSSI, President of the University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC); Ghislain MONTAVON, President of the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard (UTBM); Liu Jianyong, Party Secretary of UTSEUS; Wang Yong, Executive Dean; Fabien PFAENDER, French Dean; Vice Deans Wang Ling and He Zhuoheng; Sui Pingping, Head of Student Affairs; and Laure MINASSIAN, French Vice Dean. Participants gathered both online and offline, bridging distance to strengthen Sino-French consensus and jointly discuss the School’s development strategy.


    Opening Remarks: Building on Past Achievements to Embark on a New Journey of Development

    In her opening speech, Vice President Yu extended a warm welcome and sincere thanks to all guests for their presence. She noted that following the successful Sino-French Presidents’ Meetings held in July and October 2025, as well as the series of events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the School, UTSEUS’s key initiatives have been steadily advancing. This meeting, focused on major strategic issues and on consolidating momentum for development, is of great significance for the School’s future high-quality growth. She expressed hope that both sides would engage in in-depth discussions and inject new impetus into the School’s development.

    In-Depth Discussion of the Agenda: Focusing on Core Tasks and Defining Key Measures for Development

    The meeting carried out comprehensive discussions around ten core agenda items, with all proceedings advancing in an orderly manner and yielding fruitful results.

    Talent cultivation.The meeting reviewed and approved the enrollment expansion plan for the Sino-French dual Master’s degree program, and in principle approved the UTSEUS Strategic Statement 2026–2031. This strategy is grounded in the School’s twenty years of educational development and closely aligned with the directions of higher education and innovation development in both China and France.


    CTI accreditation and the Joint Management Committee.The meeting conducted a dedicated review of the bilingual Chinese-French CTI self-evaluation report, which the School had spent one year preparing. Both the Chinese and French sides engaged in in-depth discussions and proposed optimization suggestions, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent accreditation review. The meeting also voted to approve amendments to the cooperation agreement, including the proposed addition and appointment of six new external committee members. These new members are all leading figures in their respective industries, including Liu Feng, President of Haaenclean Group; Chen Jiang, President of Wan’an Group; Xu Yuncheng from the Big Data Center of the Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation; Philippe OBRY, Chief Innovation Officer of the ADEN Group; Vincent Delacourt, Chief Information Officer of LVMH Greater China; and Dr. Gao Xi of Alibaba Cloud. The inclusion of these external members will bring industry resources and professional expertise to support the School’s development.


    Teaching and management.The meeting approved the School’s organizational structure chart. The Chinese and French sides held in-depth discussions and reached consensus on key issues including teaching optimization, curriculum articulation, coordination mechanisms, and clarifying student training pathways, thereby laying a stronger foundation for the School’s high-quality development.

    In her concluding remarks, Vice President Yu pointed out that the meeting featured a focused agenda, in-depth discussions, and fruitful outcomes, setting clear goals and refining measures for the School’s subsequent development. She emphasized that the School’s development is a systematic undertaking that requires leadership in implementation and coordinated follow-through on the meeting’s consensus, while continuously improving related plans. She expressed hope that both the Chinese and French sides would deepen cooperation, build the School into a model of international education, and contribute to Sino-French educational exchange and talent cultivation. This meeting enhanced mutual trust, clarified the path forward, and set the direction for future development. Guided by the outcomes of the meeting, the School will continue to consolidate consensus and create a new future.
