On January 16, 2021, UTSEUS organized the first reunion of its Chinese alumni of the 2005 and 2010 graduating classes (students who entered the UTSEUS bachelor program in 2005, the year of the opening of the institute, and those who entered in 2010), increased by a group of 6 representatives of the French and international alumni who have followed each other in Shanghai since 2008 (nearly 1000 in total).
In the conference room of the UTSEUS building on the Baoshan campus, nearly 50 alumni were able to visit the building - inaugurated at the end of 2017 - and meet, besides their classmates, many professors and staff who were already in place, plus those recruited since then.
Following the deans’ welcome speeches, the testimonies of the Chinese and French student representatives, describing their professional experiences, help to measure the path of development, by themselves and by UTSEUS for 15 years.

The opportunity was also to introduce to the UTSEUS alumni the new master program in "mechatronics / cyberphysical systems" which has been accredited by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2020 and for which the admission by the French government is aimed at after CTI's audit. This engineering program, located in Shanghai while including a 1-semester study mobility in France in the UTs, will allow us to strengthen in China the links with Chinese, French and international companies, where work many of our alumni.

At the end of the ceremony, a "UTSEUS mentor" letter was given to three of the alumni, ZHOU Xingyu (Faurecia automotive parts Systems Co., Ltd.), MEI Zhifeng (Schneider Electric) and YU Longhui (OTEC, China). In this mentoring role, these engineers will participate in advising the students in their academic choices and career orientation through tutoring, along with the evolution of UTSEUS in general.
After lunching together, a visit to the Shanghai University Museum located in the new library, an informal exchange in the form of afternoon tea helped strengthen ties and pursue the shared pleasure between alumni.
The appointment is made for the end of 2021, this time with the 2006 and 2011 graduating classes, as well as other French and international alumni.
